07 October 2020

On Thursday, 1 October 2020, Councillor Sharon Cottle, the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Corporate Services and Ward Councillor for Ward 58, joined the City’s Executive Mayor Dan Plato at the Alphen Centre in Constantia where they handed over  COVID-19 care packs and  food parcels to three community-based organisations in the ward.

The organisations that received the parcels were Lower Kenilworth Improvement District (LKID), HarLyn Neighbourhood Watch and U-Turn Homeless Service Centre.

‘This initiative was aimed at assisting those in need and encouraging people to remain vigilant even under Alert Level 1 of the national lockdown. COVID-19 is still with us and we need to continue with the hygiene protocols and continue to strengthen our immune system,’ said Councillor Cottle.
